OGC FLAG FOOTBALL is an after-school activity for Tecumseh Local Schools grades K-5th, boys and girls, athletes, and non-athletes, provided by Ohio Game Changers.
The coaches are background checked and trained volunteers that have enjoy utilizing the football platform as means to build relationships and mentor kids. In this flag football program, we are not building A-Class Athletes, we are building A-Class Community Leaders. The coaches will teach basic football fundamentals, but the focus is on teamwork, resiliency, making friends, and having a safe drama free environment that gives the kids something fun to do. We love having volunteers help with our programs. We are looking for more coaches. If you are interested in helping us out send us an email. Coaches must be willing to put the mental health of a child before any desire to win.
If you decide that you want to participate as a player for OGC Flag Football there are several things you need to know. One of those things is attitude. You must want to be at practice and games, not made by someone else. Two, you don't have to be friends with your teammates, but when you are in practices and games, or representing OGC, and in school, you must be respectful, encouraging , and positive. Say good things about your teammates and coaches. Do what your coaches ask of you. Three, No Bullying, No Fighting, No Drama-Do any of this and you will be dismissed from the program-Zero Tolerance. And last, be the creator of a positive environment, where you can play some football, make some friends, learn some important life stuff, and HAVE FUN!
Families and friends of OGC Flag Football parents must always be a positive force in the life of a child. In the sports arena we have competitive players and parents. We have only a few boundaries that helps keep the OGC FLAG FOOTBALL environment a positive activity for kids. One, please don't say negative things about coaches or other players in front of your kids, it makes them think the same way and this unfortunately grows in to a cancer that eventually will eat always at the teams. Two, be an encourager, be happy your child is doing something, they are making friends, avoiding at-risk behavior, becoming better versions of themselves. Always support your kids and others. Don't criticize the coaching, the players performance, playtime, position and the disagreement on a rules. This is a kids program, just let them have fun.
